Rachel had not considered working at home while
working as a Criminal Investigator for the City of New York. However, when
she and her husband moved to Vermont, job prospects were not as good. Her
answer at that time was to pursue an advanced degree; a masters in
business administration but that too did not lead to good job prospects.
When a friend introduced her to a direct marketing company, she was sold
on the concept. Eventually she discovered Excel Communications and is very
happy with her choice. "I believe in
the industry and the company. In this day and age were people are
getting laid off everyday. We in our business can offer them an
opportunity to make money immediately. Excel is a
communications company that offers state of the art communications
products such as e-commerce, web-builder, wireless, paging, internet access
and long distance and very soon local survey. These are products
that people use habitually and they are purchased unconsciously.
This is why this business made sense to me. I get paid each time
someone uses these products. Wow, I also get paid to help other
people build a business." Before starting her
business, Rachel researched the company on the internet as well as read
articles and books. Once she made the decision to start, she set goals and
mapped out a plan of action. She continues to use a business and marketing
plan to help her achieve success in her business. Rachel
uses a variety of techniques to market her business. She uses sizzle cards
which entice people with statements like, "Want more money?".
She puts her email address and an 800 number on them for people to
respond. She also uses the internet (lead generation system), and flyers.
"My secret to success is just speak to people while you are out and
about... All you have to say to someone that is nice to you is, "You
seem like a nice person if you know anyone interested in diversifying
there income please have them give me a call." Rachel
entered her business as a managing representative which cost about $245.
She earned her investment back with 10 points and used her income to
upgrade her position to Training Director. Her first income check from
Excel was for $600 and she also earned a free computer... all in her first
month. Rachel jumped into her business full time
right away. "I went into Excel full time immediately. Prior to
Excel I was in a product business I had to purchase inventory every month
and then sell it and collect the money. When I saw Excel and they
said No Inventory, No Collections, No Products to Purchase I was in it was
a no-brainer for me. I do most of my work from home on the
phone."
Rachel indicates she is self-motivated by nature. It helps that she
believes in what she is doing and she has no desire to go back to a
traditional job. "Once you get a taste of what we have to offer you
can not go back. No one is going to pay us what this company is
paying. When you and your team are growing and everyone is making
money and building great friendship it is hard not to keep motivated.
My goal is to help anyone who is serious about changing there lives." Rachel
recommends obtaining the issue of Network Marketing Magazine that profiles
CEO of Excel, Christina Gold. She also recommends the books, The Excel
Phenomenon, by James Robertson and The New Professional by Charles King.
For information on the history of the company, she recommends visiting her
website at http://www.excelir.com/hotbiz
and look under the history of the company. "My best advise is to
learn all you can about the industry and the company. Keep your
focus on your goals and avoid any negativity that comes your way." Rachel
is willing to provide information to anyone who is interested. You can email
or visit her website.
