I just opened or clicked on “personal branding” and when I did, a notice that my flash player was out of date it was scanning my pc. I had this happen to me before and it was a scam and could have led to a virus on my pc. I had a very long time to find out where I could delete the virus before it really did some damage to my pc.
If you could please delete this from you website. When I did click on the link, it showed me briefly the article, but within a few seconds the notice appeared about the flash player being out of date. I did not download the scanning because of what happened to me before and just “X”ed out of the two screens.

If you want to check it out for yourself, please do. But, it is very hazardous for someone who hasn’t seen the fake warning before.

Thank you for contacting me about this. I clicked the link and didn’t get the situation you mention; however, I have seen that on other sites. Personal Branding Blog is a respected website by Dan Schawbel. The flash scam is triggered by adware or malware on your computer. The adware/malware could have come from any place that you downloaded something. I’d recommend increasing your virus protection and closing your browser when it appears. Scanning and removing adware/spyware/malware is recommended and may take several attempts. Uninstalling recently installed programs might help too (sometime adware is secretly added to programs).

This points out how important it it so to pay attention and not blindly accept updates on your computer. It also points out the importance for web site owners to keep their sites updated and locked tight to prevent scammers from accessing and using the site to infect people’s PCs.

    Thanks again!
