Guest Post from Joel Caws
Many of us consider working from home at some point in our working lives. It might be that you just want the flexibility of working when it suits you and not being answerable to a boss. Another common reason is where you have family commitments which make it difficult to work full time, or perhaps where you need to be at home and fit your life around school runs.
Whatever the reason, working from home can be a great option that can act as a compromise between the need to work and earn a living and the need to be flexible to work when you choose.
It’s not for everyone
Although working from home might sound like the ideal choice for everyone, it’s not something to jump into quickly. Carefully consider the impact on your family and any dependents. The most common problem with working from home is dealing with possible distractions and lack of motivation. It will take a high level of discipline and commitment if you want your work from home business to succeed. Make sure you are prepared to work hard.
The Franchise Option
Some people find the self employed option comes easy. They have a great business idea and are prepared to take the risk in pushing their business idea out there and working hard to sell it and make a business out of it. If you are type of person that is short of ideas, or does have an idea but does not have the confidence to take the risk to see if it will work, there is alternative way through buying a franchise.
Franchise – A Proven System
A franchise is quite simply a business that has been proven. It is system that is packaged in a way that can be replicated by another aspiring business owner. By buying a franchise business concept, you are benefiting from a proven business system that if you work correctly should replicate the success of the original business.
Work for yourself, but not by yourself
Another advantage of running a franchise business, is that whilst it is your own business, you are not completely alone. The franchisor is always on hand to support and train you to make the best of the business’s potential.
Part time options
There are a number of franchises that can work as part time ventures. These can obviously work well for those juggling child caring duties or have other responsibilities which cut into normal working hours, making a normal 9 to 5 job commitment difficult.
Like any business, a work from home franchise will require dedication and hard work. However, with the right attitude and plenty of commitment you can run a work from home franchise business you can be proud of.
