An Open Letter to the Overwhelmed Entrepreneur

Don't Give Up on Your Work-At-Home Dream

Dear Overwhelmed Entrepreneur,

I know you have so much on your plate right now.

You’re still working your full-time job while trying to get your work-at-home business off the ground.

You’re trying to juggle being a parent and starting a business.

You’re trying to make sure the house doesn’t look like a bomb went off and there’s food on the table, all while creating your website.

We see you.

You’re trying to justify the extra hours spent on the computer after you come home from a long day at work.

You get up early before the kids wake up just for an extra hour of time to get things done.

You set up your business late at night when everyone else is in bed.

You spend time on the weekends working on your business when you just want to relax.

We see you.

You sit at work realizing you’re wearing two different-colored socks and that you forgot to pack your son a juice box in his school lunch today because you were up until 2:00 AM working on your business, and now you’re only functioning on coffee.

We see you.

But we also know you have a vision.

You have a beautiful picture in your head of what your life will look like once you’re successful.

You’ll have more quality time to spend with your family.

You’ll get to make it to your children’s dance recitals, school plays and sporting events.

You’ll be doing work you love with clients you love.

You’ll never have to ask anyone’s permission to take off work for vacation, to care for a sick child or an aging parent.

You’ll be able to work in your living room, your bedroom, at the park, at a coffee shop or on the beach.

You’ll feel excited and inspired to do what you do each day.

We see you.

We see you because we WERE you.

We all started where you are, at the beginning of the path.

And we had the same vision for a future that you did.

So that’s why I encourage you to never give up.

Because the road will get rocky.

Things will never go quite as you planned.

You’ll have setbacks.

You’ll have moments where you sit in tears, wondering why you’re even trying.

But then you’ll have those moments where you’ll glimpse the future that you want so much.

You’ll finally get your website set up.

You’ll make a great connection with someone who could become a mentor.

You’ll get that first client.

So, please, don’t give up.

Because all those things you want in that vision you have in the future?

You can absolutely make them your new reality.
