Nicole Dean was kind enough to share a review copy of her new release, Expert Briefs: Blogging for Profit: The Stripped-Down Naked Truth from 26 Rockin’ Online Business Owners (Kindle edition). Nicole has been working online for many years and has made a name for herself in several niches including affiliate marketing, PLR and blogging.
Pulled from Nicole’s regular Expert Briefs feature on her blog, Expert Briefs: Blogging for Profit: The Stripped-Down Naked Truth from 26 Rockin’ Online Business Owners provides an easy to read overview of what it takes to be a successful blogger. It stays away from the technical aspects and instead focuses on the areas that bloggers often struggle with such as choosing a profitable niche, deciding on a name, having a steady stream of ideas to blog about, keeping the blog going while away from home, marketing and more. The most valuable part of the book is that you not only get Nicole’s ideas and advice, but other bloggers’ as well. There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to blogging, so having the input from a variety of bloggers sharing what works and doesn’t work for them is helpful in planning your own blogging future.
Another great feature of the book is the homework at the end of each chapter. I’m a concrete person, so while I like to hear stories and concepts, what I really want to know is what do I need to do. Nicole takes what is shared in each chapter and provides a to-do list for you to use what you learned to get started blogging.
There are a few areas of the book in which a little more detail could be helpful, such as in the marketing section. While it provides good ideas, someone who is new to blogging and online marketing might struggle with implementing strategies. But overall, the book gives a newbie blogger the things you need to think about and consider as you get started, and great tips and advice on how to profit from blogging from successful bloggers.
The book is available in both print and Kindle editions.
