Wherever you choose to work, be it at home, in an office or on location (e.g. a construction site), it’s well worth making the effort to keep the workplace as tidy as possible so that optimum productivity can be achieved. The cleanliness of a working environment can have a significant impact on the quality and quantity of your output.

If you decide to work from home, it will probably be easier to maintain a clean workspace as you’ll most likely be keeping your home tidy anyway. Also, should you have a specific room in your home for your work duties, you’ll only need to keep that space clean rather than an entire office. You won’t have colleagues bursting into that room and making a mess, either, and that’s something which is much harder to control in a bustling office environment.

A clean workspace does not have a plethora of distractions to draw you away from your work, nor do you need to worry about rodents being attracted by garbage bags which should have been thrown out several days previously. If you have a well-kept filing system at home, this saves a lot of time in searching for documents that could easily become lost in an untidy office setting.

This infographic from Cleaning Services Group further outlines why a tidy workspace helps you to maximize your productivity.
