Best Match is the default setting for eBay’s search results. There are several things you can do to get your listings to stand out and help you boost your listing rankings. This means that your listings will show up higher in the eBay search results. Doing so will help raise your sales and bring you better success in selling.
Best Match is the standard sort order for search results. It evaluates items and sellers based on a number of factors that are important to buyers, including how well the item matches what the
buyer’s looking for, its price and shipping cost, and the seller’s track record.
As a seller, there are several important things you can do to boost your listings closer to the top of the search results. You may have already mastered some of these suggested key steps, which include the following:
– Create an effective item title
– Carefully select your item categories, make sure they are relevant
– Include as much specific information about the item as possible. This is the step most often missed by sellers, but should never be left out.
– Use the eBay Catalog (http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/prefilled-information.html?). There is a lot of information available for items associated with products in the catalog. To find your items you are asked to search using a unique identifier such as a manufacturer’s part number, an ISBN for a book, or a keyword such as a product or brand name. If you are selling an item that matches a product in the catalog, you will be able to use the offered product details and a stock photo in your listing. If you choose to use the eBay product catalog, be sure you select a product that accurately describes your item.
While these are just a few suggestions to help you stand out in eBay’s search results, they are important to include in every one of the listings you create. More sales will increase your Detailed Seller Rating, which will ensure that you stay at the top of the search results.
