I can tell you most honestly, working at home today is far easier than it was a decade ago. I’ve owned two companies, managed dozens of employees, and have worked alone from home, or in a small one person office, at various times over the past 20 years.

Today, I earn six figures, work alone, and rarely put in more than 25-30 hours a week. All this made possible by my little computer and the connectivity afforded by the internet.

I agree, Stig. I’m not sure I’d be working at home if it weren’t for the Internet. Thank you for posting.

I recently ran across this post and my comment from almost 3 years ago. Nice to see somethings stick around! Just as a follow up, I’m still working from home. I recently landed a gig involving management of a large Google Adwords campaign for a client. If you are looking for at home opportunities, get your Adwords and Analytics certification and go hunting for clients. There are plenty to be found. With 10-12% of the ad buy as a typical fee it can be quite lucrative.
