    Leslie,
This is Nanette Smith; again. I have been on here, for several years. I have, also; been out of high school, since 1987. And; have had a total, of three jobs. Two, at the same place. I worked there, once, when I was still; in high school; and once again, on November 23, 1999 to February 18,2000!!! I also, worked at a Pizza Hut, for a week (would have, liked to have made it longer. But, I heard, they were not, going to pay me). And; they, would not allow me, any breaks, at all.
I would LOVE to work. But; no one, will let me (not even, my husband). He will not, let me go to school; either. He says, because, he does not, understand it, he will not take me. And; he will not, get involved in it. So; I now (for almost 24 years); have had to sit, on the couch, day in and day out, not working, when; I could be. I volunteered, for nine (9) years, (while in school); doing, one of the things, I would have liked to do. An hour and a half, a day. But; they won’t hire me. That was for 180 days, of the school year. I have, gained, so much weight, it is sickening, to me. I have been trying to work, with a Vocational Rehabilitation Office. But; even, the person, I work with, will not; get me a job. And, that is there job.
Life, is not; supposed to be boring. But; it is. My husband’s health, is going down. And; I am still young.

    Hi Nanette,
Thank you for being a regular visitor! I don’t quite understand why your husband wouldn’t support your effort to work if it made you happy. And is your goal to work to make money or to not be bored? Jobs are tough to come by these days, but you can volunteer or start a business from your home. I’m not sure what you do at home, but taking care of a home can be work as well. It seems like at my house there are always dishes to to be done and laundry to be folded. I guess what I’m saying is that if you are not happy, you need to be proactive and not wait for someone to give you a job or permission. Instead of sitting around and gaining weight, find hobbies or activities that nurture your spirit.
