More Resources To Find Work-At-Home Jobs
Want to find more jobs? Here are some of the sites I use to find jobs. These resources list hundreds of jobs in a variety of categories. Please note that the listings below are NOT jobs (jobs are posted above). These are services that provide work-at-home job announcements. Some are free and some aren’t. While you never ant to pay a company to hire you, it is okay to invest in a service that can help you find a job. The services below are the ones I use.
Telecommuting Job Databases (fee required to access these services)
FlexJobs– Has tons of work-at-home and flexible job options plus a personalized login system that will identify jobs that fit your criteria, ability to have multiple resume profiles, job search tips and checklists, and much more! For the number of jobs and added service, its a must use for the serious work-at-home job hunter.
HomeJobStop has over 100 jobs in clerical, and more in customer service, writing, transcription, miscellaneous plus 100’s of others. Very affordable.
Free job search sites (you need to search by keyword to find work-at-home jobs on these sites).
NEW! oDesk – Tons of freelance jobs in administrative support, customer service and more!

Hi Leslie, Everyone says I need to be social networking for my home business, but there are so many sites and I’m overwhelmed. Can you give me tips on what sites I should use? – Gabby
There is no doubt that social networking can be great for a business AND is a huge time suck if not managed well. My tricks are:
1) Only use the social networks your market uses. If your market doesn’t Tweet, then you don’t need to be on Twitter. If you’re a business-to-business company, then it will pay to be on LinkedIn.
2) Plan your posts. I use plug-ins and apps to make sure that my blog posts automatically go to my social networks. I also try to comment on other people’s posts and send or retweet/share at least one other person’s post. This insures that I’m not only giving good info, but I’m participating in the conversation. Social networking is two-way communication, so it’s important to respond, not just post.
3) Set time limits. Because you can waste hours on social media, limit yourself to a 10 minutes in the morning and in the afternoon (or whatever time and schedule works best for you). Use a timer (you can use online ones) to keep you within your time limits.
The FTC recently came down on a company pretending to be a legit MLM, but in fact is an illegal pyramid. When it comes to weeding out pyramids from legitimate MLM, it can be hard. The rule is that a legit MLM will have products or services and that income is earned off the sales made by you and you’re recruits. But some companies, like the one in this complaint, have products and services, so one might think it was ok. The FTC indicates that the reason the program is illegal is because the compensation plan doesn’t allow everyone a fair shot at success. So if you’re looking into starting a home business through MLM (which is a viable way to make money), always check to see if it’s in the Direct Selling Association, see it’s rating in the BBB and study the compensation plan to make sure you can make money through product/service sales.
