Our success profile for this week is, Kean Graham, the CEO of MonetizeMore, a leading ad tech firm that is a Google Certified Partner and has been location independent for 7 years.
1) How did you get started working from home?
I started working from home when I started my business 7 years ago after getting the inspiration from a trek in Maccu Piccu.
2) How did you choose the work-at-home career you do?
I chose the work-at-home career from being inspired to empower myself to live a lifestyle where I could work and travel where I want, when I want. My home changes depending where I am because I get an apartment in each city that I move to.
3) How did you get started (basic initial steps)?
I got started by making websites and doing affiliate marketing to learn as much as possible to come up with my business idea. I came up with a goal to increase revenues for businesses via digital strategies.
4) How did you get your first client or customer or job?
I got my first client by using my old employer as a case study and then pitched them the idea and offered to only charge them a percentage of the increased revenues. Once I was able to make them additional millions, I had a great testimonial and success story to build off of and apply to websites around the world.
5) How do you market your business?
I marketed my business via consistent content marketing that offered a lot of value to publishers and offline marketing like networking, conferences and trade shows.
6) What does your usual day look like?
My usual day involves reviewing important metrics, getting on calls with executives, potential partners and working on marketing projects to further grow the business.
7) What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?
I wish I knew to position my company as a full-fledged business rather than just myself early on. If I did, I would have had more negotiation power for the early long term contracts.
8) What advice would you give someone who wants to work from home?
For someone that would want to work from home, I would recommend they assess their own working style first. Make sure that you are self-motivated, can avoid distractions and have a productive home environment to be successful.
